Apply for a grant
Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion aims to support research and researchers whose work has potential to lead to breakthrough technologies. Breakthrough technologies bring about significant changes and improvements to existing technical solutions and provide sustainable responses to the major challenges of our time.
The primary criterion for awarding grants is the scientific quality and ambition of the research.
Other criteria include the innovativeness of the research and its potential to enhance the competitiveness of the business sector and promote sustainable development. We also consider how the applicant justifies the grant's importance for the specific stage of the research.
The next grant call is 9 January-12 February 2026.

The grant application opens in January.
The grant application closes in February.
Grant recipients are selected at the end of April.
All applicants will be notified of the decisions at the beginning of May.
All grant recipients will be publicly announced in June.
We celebrate the grant recipients in early summer.
