The Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion awards distinguished technology educators, young researchers, and innovators in the field of technology.
The Good Teacher Award
The Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion annually awards the Good Teacher Award to an individual who inspires and motivates students to pursue careers in technology. The award is a tribute based on student nominations.
The award can be given to an individual working in a teaching position at a technical university or in the engineering faculty of a university.
The award amount is 10,000 euros. We request nominations annually from Finnish technology student guilds and subject-specific student organizations.
When awarding the Good Teacher Award, we pay particular attention to:
- The content and quality of teaching
- Utilizing latest research findings
- Integrating digital tools into teaching
- The ability to inspire and motivate students
- Active student mentoring.
The Young Researcher Award
The Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion can award the Young Researcher Award to a young researcher in the field of technology who has:
- Achieved significant scientific results in their research
- Created important technological innovations and/or
- Worked closely with the business sector.
Additionally, the research must be significant from a sustainable development perspective. The award recipient must also be able to demonstrate post-doctoral research work.
The award can be given to an individual who turns no more than 35 years of age during the calendar year of the award. The award amount is 10,000 euros.
We annually request nominations for the award recipient from Finnish universities in the field of technology as well as from VTT.
